Sometimes life plots a strategy for us. Common sense lends itself to pave the way for what appears to be the obvious next step. You did this so you should do that. You have this job which leads to that job. Makes sense and appears to be a no brainer.
Due to my professional experience not long ago my next step seemed obvious. I became licensed in a new job. This took time and money. The predictable path was planned. While the details are as unnecessary as they are uninteresting, I found myself unhappy, unsuccessful, and at a crossroad. Push forward, or make a change?
I didn’t just go willy-nilly and quit. I talked to wise confidants about a new idea. My husband agreed with my plan. My Christian life coach drilled me with tough questions. A friend had done something similar so I drove to her town for a three hour lunch to discuss the positives and negatives.
Having learned the hard way I’ve become a planner. Within a few days I’d plotted a strategy. I registered a new business with the state of Louisiana. The Baton Rouge Christian Life Magazine became a reality.
Dreams stir our souls deep within. As a writer I want to write. As a Christian I want to encourage others to step out in faith and make a difference in their communities. Most of all I hope to remind others that God is still very much at work in the lives of his people.
It’s been a busy few weeks. I’ve met a lot of kind people who are coming alongside me to make a difference in this town and beyond. Much work is to be done. More plans are unfolding. Plans, plans, plans. This is where I pray and trust that my faith intersects with God’s faithfulness. That He will lead and I will humbly follow.
Plans! As excitement builds, one way to pursue our passions is by establishing a plan by acknowledging our mistakes. Today’s pick of the day.
